Vintage Takehana Razors Co. FEON 1880 Japanese straight razor in NOS condition w/ Box

This Takehana Razors Co. 1880 is produced by the same razor manufacturer who made blades under the brand name Kikuboshi. Both Takehana and Kikuboshi blades are celebrated for their smooth shaving performance and good looks. It is becoming more difficult to find one of these in NOS condition.

This 1880 is a hollow grind blade with a shoulder less design that allows some flexibility for extra comfort while contouring the face. It is made out of fine grain high carbon steel alloy which retains a smooth shaving edge for an extended time. This blade shaves with high precision and the result is a smooth and close shave.

Under close inspection you will see there is some minor pitting in one area on the blade. This has been smoothed to prevent further corrosion and make it easy to maintain for a lifetime. See the photos for a close up.

The semi translucent silver pearl scales with FEON logo are stunning. For a collector of Japanese shaving history, this is a must. I’m sure it will become one of your favorites in your rotation!
